Find motivation
Find motivation to take care of yourself.
-
You might feel tired, drained, low in energy and wonder what the point is. Taking the first step is the hardest part — once you do that, things will become easier.
-
It is hard to achieve much when you are tired, hungry, or dehydrated. Reassess your sleep routine and see if that could be affecting you. Make sure you eat nourishing food and stay hydrated. Our stomach is our second brain, so we should look after it the best we can.
-
Create a routine — get up and make your bed each morning. It takes absolutely no time, and allows you to complete the first goal of the day, providing a sense of accomplishment.
-
Listen to music that empowers you. Music can help our mood a lot — listen to something empowering, and sing along if you know the lyrics.
-
Find other people’s stories and get inspired by them, then visualise yourself as someone who inspires others.
-
Set yourself a small goal to achieve. It can be anything from changing out of your pyjamas, to watering a plant, to paying a bill. Set a small goal, achieve it and acknowledge your feelings as you complete the task. What can you accomplish next?
-
Declutter your wardrobe, kitchen cupboards, work space, loft or shed. Having a clearer space will make you feel and think in a more positive manner.
-
Read and repeat positive affirmations that empower you: “Today I will only do my best”, “I am capable of achieving things in life”, “I feel calm”, “I allow joy in my life”. Give yourself a few minutes to reflect on these positive words, stay in the moment, and feel the power of the words bringing thoughts into reality.

All of the above releases dopamine, the happy hormone!
