Emotions

Accept your emotions — they are all part of who you are, and you are allowed to embrace them.

  • Think of your mind like the sky: some days it is clear, some days it is cloudy, some days it is sunny, and some days it is raining. And some days it is stormy. This is all normal for the sky, so why should it not be normal for our minds as well?

  • We should be able to sit with our emotions and accept them, instead of forcing ourselves not to feel certain ones because “we should not feel like this”.

  • Speak to someone about how you are feeling — keeping feelings bottled up inside is not good as there will come a point where they will “explode”.

  • Do something simple that makes you feel good, that even makes you laugh. Have you ever tried Laughter Yoga? Yes, it is as silly as it sounds, but the brain cannot tell the difference between a genuine laugh or a forced one, and it releases the same chemicals that help us feel a bit better. Watch an old funny TV show like Only Fools and Horses, or some kitten videos.
