Awkward moments

Everyone gets them, they are part of life! Try to learn from them instead of dwelling on them.

  • Stepping outside your comfort zone feels uncomfortable, but look at it from the perspective of: “What’s the the worst that can happen?”

  • We do tend to sabotage ourselves and create fake scenarios in our heads. In reality, things are not as bad. Reflect on a recent experience: was it as bad as you thought it would be in the end?

  • Read the book “Feel The Fear And Do It Anyway” for a few suggestions and theories. Or just say out loud how you feel: “This is really awkward for me…”

  • When I find myself in an awkward situation, I tend to say “There’s always one!” and laugh at it. How many times have we found ourselves telling people amusing stories about past awkward experiences? We have a giggle and say: “We laugh now, but it wasn’t funny then!” Remember, one day in the future you will have a chance to laugh at the awkwardness you are experiencing now.
